History[]
Before the era of Avizandum, which dates back 300 years before the present,[1] the Jailer was born into the Human Kingdoms. Over the years, she became a mage and a mastermind of prisons and puzzles.[2] When it was discovered that the Startouch Elf Archmage Aaravos was responsible for causing multiple crises the world had suffered through for a thousand years,[3] the Archdragons of Xadia tasked the Jailer in designing a magical prison capable of containing such a powerful foe. The Jailer then became acquainted with the Tidebound Elf Archmage Akiyu and borrowed some of her powers in order to build the prison. However, when Akiyu unintentionally saw a map that marked the prison's location, the Jailer threatened to have the Archdragons kill the Tidebound Elf so that Aaravos could not exploit its secrets and escape. The Jailer eventually chose to spare Akiyu when she vowed to die before she could reveal the location of the prison to anyone else.[4] The Jailer was present alongside Akiyu and the Orphan Queen when the Archdragons and the elves used the prison she crafted to lock Aaravos away.[3]
