Campaigns, officially referred to as "Tales", are provided stories included within Tales of Xadia that include many different characters, settings, and paths to take. They always include a set of catalysts, as well as side characters that can be included in a story. There are currently three campaigns available, with a fourth one in production.
Lost Oasis
Lost Oasis is a cortex playtest campaign that was published on February 9th, 2021. An early handbook preview was made available for subscribers of the website's newsletter on February 4th, 2021.[1] The campaign includes two major acts with multiple-outcome scenes, as well as additional optional scenes. The story takes place after the battle at the Storm Spire and revolves around the Moonshadow Elf Feathershawl, who hires Player Characters to retrieve the a rare artifact from the floating city Innean before it collides with a mountain.
As Lost Oasis is a playtest adventure, some player choices are constrained, unlike future installments of Tales of Xadia. The handbook marks certain playtest scenes for those who wish to playtest only a few short scenes instead of playing the whole campaign. The playtest serves the goal to allow players to become familiar with the game rules and determine whether certain scenes or decisions would work out in a larger campaign.[2]
Catalysts
- Feathershawl (They/them): A non-binary Moonshadow Elf mage who hires a group to retrieve an artifact from the floating city of Innean.
- Nausics: A Skywing Elf and Keeper of the Primal Well.
- Olanna: A young Skywing Elf who is sharp, forthright, and headstrong in her methods and used to getting what she wants. Although she is not useful for combat, she rallies a rescue operation regardless of proximity or collaboration and is not willing to have emotions get the best of her.[3]
- Wiggy: A fiercely loyal chicken who lays a seemingly bottomless amount of eggs. She loves the child Pereka and loves to perch on shoulders.[4]
Side Characters
- Nekrex: The captain of the guard in Innean. He wears the only proper, non-magical armor in town. He is not very useful in combat but carries a small club.
- Noko: The aspiring apprentice of Nausics. He is eager to discuss magic, although he has no real aptitude for it. He is, however, obsessive about lore and has spent a great deal of time in the museum above the Primal Well.
- Pondaryss: An elderly, clever, crotchety ghost whisperer woman who agrees that everyone must evacuate, but does not trust most people, due to being unable to tell whether they are ghosts or not.
- Pereka: A young, fearless girl who is unafraid of virtually everything and is thus prone to get herself in trouble. She is also an animal lover, who is dearly loved by the chicken Wiggy.
- Siftress: A helpful Skywing Mage and light user of magic who claims to have seen the fall of Innean coming, which truly is the case, whether she is believed or not.
- Vuxen: Innean's most brilliant blacksmith, capable of weaving sky magic into rare metals and thus creating powerful equipment. He forged a cuirass for Nausics that allows him to pick up the Primal Well.

The Corrupted Core
The Corrupted Core[6] is the third campaign, which was announced during the first launch of the website and released with the full handbook. In this campaign, players are able to explore the ruins of Lux Aurea, try to restore the corrupted Sunforge, and fight to stop the spread of the evil monstrosities it radiates. This off-screen story comes alive in game supplements, as well as in organized play events.[7] The story ends on a cliffhanger and will be continued in another tale.
Catalysts
- Vaake (She/her): A female Sunfire Elf from Lux Aurea, who plays a big part in stopping the Sunforge's corruption.[6]
- Ekkers (He/him): A Katolian army captain, who defected to help the Sunfire Elves after Viren had turned his allies into magma beasts.[6]
Side Characters
- Karim (He/him): A mysterious Sunfire Elf who is grateful for saving the city, though his motives are unclear.

- Rachida (She/her): A Sunfire Elf high ranking gate guard. She longs for a worthy enemy that is not one of the corrupted dark magic abominations.
- Sani (She/her): A Sunfire Elf guard who loves to hear stories from other warriors. She once retrieved a rare Durenian flower for her wife while crossing the Border.
- Yakubu (He/him): A Sunfire Elf gate guard who is wary of outsiders. He stays at his post until even the last refugee made it to safety.
Sunfire Chronicle
Sunfire Chronicle is an upcoming tale teased at the conclusion of the Tales of Xadia handbook. It will be a continuation of the "The Corrupted Core" tale and reveal what the right powerful magic artifact to rebuild the city will be, as well as reveal more about the fate of the Sunfire Elves and Lux Aurea.[8]
