Sunforge equipment is rare and valuable magical equipment forged by Sunfire Elves inside the Sunforge of Lux Aurea. This equipment includes weapons and armor, which are enchanted with Sun magic, giving them unique properties.
Mercy Debt[]
The Mercy Debt[1] is a magical collar forged by Queen Aditi to restrain and bind the blood-drinking Moonshadow Elf Kim'dael into serving her family for generations until one of the Sunfire Queen's descendants decides to set the latter free. It is a golden collar decorated with red gems, and it is magically seared into Kim'dael's flesh and possesses the power to tighten around her neck slowly until she dies of asphyxiation if Aditi's bloodline ends.[2] Aditi also devised another trick so no royal family member could release Kim'dael foolishly: only the monarch, the one who wears the crown of Lux Aurea, possesses the power to free the Bloodmoon Huntress.[3]
Sunforge Blades[]
Sunforge blades are rare weapons created by the Sunfire Elves that remain as hot as when they were forged for hundreds of years. Their forms can range from daggers to swords. The sheaths they are kept in are inscribed with runes to protect the wielders from the extreme heat. It is said that Sunforge blades can cut through anything, even solid steel.[4] They are also capable of withstanding the intense heat of fire conjured by Sun magic.[5] However, it would appear the weapons are unable to cut through certain objects, such as the magical oath-binding ribbon worn by Rayla. It is unknown how they would perform against other magical artifacts.[6]
What is truly remarkable is that while the blades remain hot, the weapons themselves are also incredibly durable, maintaining incredible physical cohesion despite being well beyond the melting point of contemporary steel.
Sunforge Lockbuster[]
The Sunforge lockbuster is an artifact forged by the Sunforge and was commissioned by Queen Khessa. It is a thin steel key with a golden top that radiates with hot magic that turns the inner workings of a lock into ash upon being inserted. Following the evacuation of Lux Aurea, it has been lost to the wilderness.[7]
Sunforge Shields[]
While little has been seen of these defensive weapons, Sunforge shields are shown to be incredibly versatile. When locked together in a group and slammed into the ground, they can release a powerful shockwave that can knock back large waves of enemies.[8]
