The Six Horns are six of the most esteemed Sunfire Elf generals of Lux Aurea.[1] They were named after Sol Regem's horns.[2]

Information[]

The Six Horns comprises the six elite generals who command the six Sunfire Armies of Lux Aurea.[3] They also play integral roles in a grand trial known as the "Tribunal of the Six Horns", where they preside as juries who weigh the pleas of the prosecutors and the defendants. To pass their judgement, each of the Horns is presented with a personal yellow flame that they fuel with a blue substance, which turns red if the verdict is "guilty".[1] None of the Six Horns are allowed to become romantically involved with royalty so their positions will remain impartial.[4]

The attire of the Six Horns consists of a golden mask to honor the monarch's crown,[3] as well as a long, yellow robe that sports a sun symbol on its chest and is worn over a black robe detailed with a golden pattern at its shoulders and bottom seam. Additionally, they wear red or black sleeves on their forearms, which are topped by golden bracers.[1]

History[]

The Six Horns were summoned for a tribunal after Lucia, the human architect of the Sunfire Elf camp, violated a sacred rite by extinguishing the Soul Candle that was meant to guide the spirit of Yonnis's deceased mother through the night. After listening to Lucia's pleas and Amaya's defense, the Six Horns declared the architect guilty and sentenced her to die. However, as Janai showed mercy by pardoning Lucia and allowing her to make amends by building a shrine where Soul Candles could burn without threatening the camp, her brother, Karim, was displeased by her decisions and began to conspire with the Six Horns to overthrow Janai. However, Miyana remained uncertain whether the Six Horns were ready to turn against their monarch when the time came.[1] Following these plans, the Six Horns gathered alongside Amaya and Kazi to witness a Royal Blood Duel between Janai and Karim. As Janai emerged as the victor of the duel, retaining and asserting her authority as queen, the Six Horns abandoned their desires to overthrow her and instead arrested Karim for high treason.[5]

After Janai was abducted by Kim'dael, Pharos presented himself and Karim's ultimatum to the Six Horns, Amaya, and Gren. Karim demanded to have Miyana deliver the Sun Seed in exchange for Janai's safety. Amaya and Gren convinced the Six Horns to refuse to comply with Karim's demands, with the former resorting to rescuing Janai herself while disguised in Miyana's armor.[6] However, Janai and her supporters were too late to realize that Miyana had delivered the Sun Seed to Karim, for her loyalty to him never wavered. Miyana had also brought her army with her so that Karim would have the numbers to challenge Janai.[7]

The furious Janai questioned the loyalty of the five remaining Horns following Miyana's betrayal, though she eventually let go of her doubt after Amaya told her the story of "The King with 1,000 Eyes".[3] The five Horns attended Janai and Amaya's wedding before aiding them in the battle against Karim and Miyana's army.[8]
