Viren looks at Claudia, whose eyes have turned black while using dark magic. Upon realizing her father has woken up, her eyes turn to normal and tear up.
Claudia approaches Viren and places a hand onto his cheek. Viren, realizing that Claudia's hair has turned much whiter than before, and that she must have resurrected him through dark magic, lets out shocked breaths.
[Briefly averts eyes] It's been two years, dad. Over two years have passed.
At the realization, Viren widens his eyes in shock.
Scene Change
Heavy rainfall descends onto the castle of Katolis as it's focused on. Inside his new study, a grown up Callum stands before the magical mirror he found inside Viren's secret chambers.
[Snorts and waves his hand] Oh, pfft! Ahh, you don't need to call me that. I-I know it's my official title, but all that High Mage stuff is so... stuff-y, heh. Just call me my normal name, Prince Callum. Or, you know, j-jus-just... regular Callum. But, you don't actually have to say... regular. [Laughs awkwardly and walks outside of the room] Okay, I'm sorry, now I don't remember what you came here to tell me.
A dome of air forms above Callum's head, serving as an umbrella as he makes his way across the courtyard. On his way, the residents wave at him, and he shields one of them to assist her while passing through. Once back inside, he runs into Soren and Corvus.
[Laughs] There he is, the step-mage! Still funny. Gets a little bit funnier every time, ha-ha. That's how these things work. [Leans on Corvus] Nicknames, ha-ha! Hey, what if I called you-
Oh, hey! Uh, s-see you guys at the meeting in-in two minutes. O-One Minute! [Gets the attention of the Crow Master and runs over to him] Crow Master! Excuse me, Crow Master!
A settlement near Lux Aurea is shown, and Amaya, Janai, and Gren ride through a nearby forest on their horses. They eventually come to a slow and Amaya begins to sign to Janai.
Hm, while I did appreciate the authoriative ring of "Baker-in-Chief", in the end, I would be humbled to accept the role as your Minister of Crusts and Jellies.
Everyone claps as Barius takes a seat, while Soren stuffs his face with jelly tarts.
They might be, at first. But it will change when they meet her. Zubeia is gentle and kind and funny, and when people see that, it willl start to change how they see dragons. And that's sort of the point. This is a first step towards building trust and peace between the Human Kingdoms and Xadia.
[Smiles sadly, then walks over to pick up Viren's bloodied crown] Two years ago, after the battle ended, I searched for you. When I found your body... it was more bent and broken than this crown. [Tosses the crown] The star caterpillar was with you, a-and that mysterious, deep voice spoke to me.
Yes. Aaravos told me I had to act fast. I brought you into this cave where the star caterpillar spun a strange sparkly cocoon around you to preserve your body.
Then, I had to go on a quest. A quest into Xadia: to find every strange and rare thing I would need to save you, to bring my father back from the dead. [Inhales] I had to do things... I never imagined I would be able to do. [Tears up]
Amaya walks further into the forest, when she notices a suspicious shift in the atmosphere. When the horses begin to neigh and scatter, she notices three Sunfire Elves with flaming whips that approach her. Ready for the challenge, Amaya prepares for battle as the elves nod to each other and form a circle around the general, dancing in graceful steps while using their whips. To the surprise of the elves, Amaya disarms two of them and knocks them down, then pins the third elf against a tree by using her shield as a projectile. As Amaya readies to punch the man, she is alarmed by Janai's voice behind her, who reappears wearing a flower attire.
After finding everything I needed, I came back here to the cave. Aaravos gave me final instructions...and then the star caterpillar went into that chrysalis. [Points at gurgling cocoon] I had to complete the resurrection spell alone... And it worked! [Opens her arms and falls into Viren's embrace]
There is one weird hope. The last thing Aaravos told me before the caterpillar went in there was... [Mimics Aaravos] "The being that emerges from the chrysalis will guide you to the one who has answers."
Oh, it's uh- It's something Lord- [Stutters] The previous High Mage left behind. A mirror with ancient runes on it. I'm convinced there's a deeper secret here, if I can just figure out what it is or what it does. That does sound very interesting.
Mm-hm, mm-hm, mm-hm. Mm-hm, yeah. Very interesting, mm-hm. My Aunt Amaya has managed to locate a rare book in Xadia, a Tome of Translation, and she's sent it, but I'm still waiting for it.
It is! As soon as it gets here, I'm gonna be able to- Wait, wait. Are you trying to stall me? You know, I'm very passionate about this stuff, and nobody- [Gasps]
Callum gazes out of the window where he spots the king's tower going dark and the Associate Crow Lord closing the door.
[Flies over to the tower] Ezran, I'm coming! [Pushes the doors open and draws the rune for "Fulminis", forming an orb in his hand] Ez? Are you in there?
All
Surprise!
The room lights up and the residents of Katolis are gathered around Callum, including Ezran.
[Singing in unison] Have a mystical, magical birthday. Have a wonderful, whimsical birthday. Have a fun and fantastical birthday. [Barius sings that last note in a long and low voice like an opera singer] With wishes and kisses and laughing and love.
So to refresh: we have one month to find a magical prison that's been hidden for centuries. And then, we have to figure out how to free the ancient being trapped in that prison, or else, I will die?
Ugh... I know, right? [Throws her hands up] Oh! Wait. One more thing. I almost forgot... I want you... to meet my new boyfriend! [Turns and gets onto her tiptoes]Terry! [Giggles gleefully]
Viren squints at Terry, then his expression changes to shocked as he realizes he is an Earthblood Elf.
It's short for Terrestrius, heh. Very traditional Earthblood Elf name. Bit old fashioned, you know, but my fiends call me Terry, and you... [Inhales] Can call me Terry? Heh. May I call you Viren? [Steps closer to Viren] Lord... uh... sir... Claudia's dad?
Very well. Anywho... your daughter's amazing. I mean, y-you know that, you're her dad. And, like, she brought you back from the dead. Wow! Right? Heh. [Clears throat] Well. Ahem. [Bows] Trees to meet you. Heh. [Backs up towards Claudia] I think it went well.
Scene Change
Everyone is celebrating. The kids attending the party do the floss while Ezran, Opeli, and Corvus are watching.
Oh, you hadn't heard? I just got promoted. Associate Crow Lord. Yeah, finally, a little respect. [Chuckles, then watches the woman leave] Yo- I'll talk to you later!
