History[]
Pip was born at an unknown point before he became King Harrow's pet and closest companion after Sarai was killed by Avizandum.[1]
First Saga[]
Pip was by Harrow's side when Viren informed the latter about the presence of Moonshadow Elf assassins in Katolis.[2] Pip accompanied Harrow as the latter prepared to meet his fate and scolded Viren for his arrogance.[3] After Harrow was killed by Runaan, Viren had Pip locked into a cage inside his office, and the Xadian Songbird remained silent as the mage prepared to seize the throne of Katolis.[4]
It was eventually revealed that Viren used the two-headed Soulfang Serpent to switch Pip and Harrow's souls, which caused Runaan to kill the songbird instead of the king.[5]
Book One - Moon[]
Echoes of Thunder[]
Pip is perching on the armrest of Harrow's chair when his master is being woken by Viren and is later carried onto the balcony, where he receives affectionate pets.
Moonrise[]
Pip is sitting with the castle's crossbow defense before flying off to join Harrow in his room. When he tells his pet that he may die today, Pip rubs against him, receiving praise for the best bird kisses. He later lands on Harrow's shoulder and squawks while Viren is scolded for disobedience.
Book Five - Ocean[]
Old Wounds[]
Pip appears in Viren's fever dream as Harrow uses the relic staff and a dark magic spell to trap the mage's soul inside an enchanted coin.
