The Order of the Blood Moon was a cult of Moonshadow Elves in the Moonshadow Forest founded and led by Kim'dael that engaged in the forbidden practice of drinking the blood of still-living beings to prolong their lives and enhance their magic.[1]

Kim'dael founded and led the Order of the Blood Moon during the reign of Luna Tenebris as they started to drink the blood of still-living beings to prolong their lives and enhance their magic.[1] The elves of Xadia shunned the Order for engaging in such abhorrent practice.[2] When Avizandum rose to power after the death of Luna Tenebris, he led the inhabitants of Xadia in abolishing the Order of the Blood Moon and hunting down its members until Kim'dael was the only one who remained.[1]
