Miyana is a Sunfire Elf from Lux Aurea and a former general of the Six Horns, holding the position until she was stripped of her titles for conspiring against the reign of Queen Janai.[1] She was in a romantic relationship with Prince Karim,[2] and is later revealed to have become pregnant with their two children,[3] who she currently lives with as a resident of Evrkynd.[4]

Appearance[]

Miyana is a dark-skinned Sunfire Elf with wavy dark brown hair and amber eyes. Her attire consists of a red tunic with gold armor plating on her shoulders, arms, waist, and legs. A pair of golden earrings hang from her ears and a golden headgear rests in front of her red horns, which are also adorned with golden rings. She also sports white markings around her eyes, on her chin, and on her shoulders.[2]

When Karim waged war against Janai, Miyana replaced her red tunic with that of a darker red hue, and the white markings around her eyes, on her chin, and on her shoulders had been painted red.[5] After the conclusion of the traditionalist campaign and her capture, Miyana returned her facial markings to their previous white coloration but was otherwise stripped of her other regalia in recognition of her removal from the Six Horns, leaving her attire consisting of brown pants and boots, her gold earrings, and the sleeveless red tunic and dress that Miyana had previously worn beneath her armor, which was rimmed with gold lining along the hemline and shoulders.[3]

Personality[]

Miyana is a skilled warrior and intelligent in the realm of politics. While she was somewhat nationalistic like her lover, Karim, she is less headstrong and more cautious politically, being hesitant to overthrow Janai.[6] As it turns out, she prefers to wait for the right moment to reveal her true allegiance,[7] and her love for Karim ultimately motivated her to betray Janai and join him in his war.[8] Upon joining Karim and devoting herself to his cause, Miyana demonstrated a darker streak directly towards those that would seek to prevent the rebirth of the Sunfire Empire, cruelly mocking Ezran when she believed he was averting his eyes to avoid watching the destruction of Janai's forces, which she chastised him for, boasting that Sol Regem would grace them with his presence, then attempting to summon the Archdragon to battle without hesitation. Furthermore, she expressed a belief in the concept of fate, claiming that Ezran could not be blind to destiny.[5]

After her and Karim's defeat and the collapse of their campaign to restore their society to its militaristic past, Miyana was proven to have experienced a change of heart. Having discovered that she was to deliver the children born from their union, unlike her lover, Miyana's ambitions and views appear to have mellowed with her acceptance of their defeat.[3] In contrast to Karim, who, in his blind pursuit of power, was unable to abandon his ambitions for the throne and so met in his death,[9] Miyana showed no further animosity towards Janai or desire to resist her reign, telling Karim that her dreams had changed because of her pregnancy and rebuked how her partner addressed the unborn baby simply as their heir. With her impending motherhood, Miyana expressed her wish to build a better future for their child with Karim, pleading with him to put aside the empire that now only existed in his mind and accept this path forwards alongside her. When Karim interpreted this request as being one asking him to give up, Miyana denied this, telling him she was asking him to fight to remain alive for her and their unborn child.[3] Although Karim ultimately rejected her pleas with his refusal to abandon the chance to restore Xadia to its former "glory",[9] Miyana showed herself to be at peace with her decisions, even relocating with her two infant children to build a life within the new community being built by on the Border by humans and elves alike.[4]
