The In-Between is a plane between life and death that can be entered through the Moon Nexus. It is where restless spirits of individuals who died with great trauma and with unfinished business are caught in.[1]
History[]
Aaravos intended to open a portal to the In-Between to unleash the restless spirits to the world of the living as part of his plan to create an Eternal Night and avenge the death of his beloved daughter Leola, who was executed by the other Startouch Elves for breaking the cosmic order.[2][1] To accomplish such a feat, he and Claudia acquired a Moon Primal Stone made from unicorn bones in the Garden of Innocence[3] and the spirit of the female Shimmercrow he killed[4] to lift the veil between the living and the dead so they can invert the Moon Nexus and open a portal to the In-Between. Among the various souls that the two released were Ziard, the Being, and Avizandum.[5][6]
