Transcript
The episode starts with Viren and Claudia in the cave looking at Aaravos' chrysalis pulsating and emanating white light. Claudia reaches out her hand and touches the chrysalis .
Claudia walks to the wall of the cave and uses the corrupted Sun staff to make a shimmering portal to the outside. Viren watches Claudia walk outside, then follows her. Terry pokes the chrysalis. When Viren steps outside he shields his eyes from the bright sunlight.
I had never seen anything like it. Flew right in surrounded by glowing sparkles and shiny bits. I mean, when it arrived, I literally... [whispers] Let's just say these aren't the same trousers I wore to work this morning. [normal voice] Here it is!
King Ezran, I must confess. I was impressed with your vision for using the Dragon Queen's visit as a catalyst for growing trust and peace across the continent.
Can't it be both? It's been four months since I've seen him. I just miss him so much, I wanna squeeze his zappy little cheeks! [imitates zapping sounds]
Scene Change
Claudia and Terry easily ascend a trail of stone steps carved into the side of the Storm Spire. Viren and struggles behind them while panting and gasping. He stops and looks over the steep stone edge.
You do realize I'm one of the most powerful sky mages in history, a legendary master of the four winds... and I'm reduced to this, convincing you, a stubborn dragonling, to eat his veggies.
Ah, it'll be my pleasure! See that plant right there? [cracks his knuckles]
A grid of geometric shapes glows on his skin. His eyes open and glow with a yellow light. He conjures an orb of energy and guides it to the plant. After that his skin and eyes return to normal and he points to the plant. Viren raises an eyebrow.
Petrichor, Dad. It's the smell of fresh rain hitting dry stones! It smells so good when he farts!
Viren gives a doubtful look then follows Claudia and Terry up the stairs.
Scene Change
The city of the Sunfire Elves now lies in ruins. In the background the corrupted Sunforge of Lux Aurea can be seen. The Queen's royal tent lies among the makeshift refugee camp. Inside Janai and Amaya stand together as they are greeted reverently with Sunfire salutes. Gren enters the tent wearing a floral headpiece and sash. He approaches the couple and signs to Amaya.
Blank, blank, blank, blank, blank, blank. Blankity, blankity, blank! [gasps] This is... This is not a Tome of Translation. It's barely a Pamphlet of Pathetic! Ugh!
Sometimes, all the little bits of stress and anxieties come together and add up, turn into kind of a big thing, and, psh, down you go. Used to happen to me all the time when I was a sapling.
I was so excited about this book, Bait, this incredibly rare tome from Xadia. I was sure it would translate the symbols on the mirror, but no luck. And half the book is blank!
Callum pounds his fist on the table and splatters ink on a blank page. The same mark appears on the adjacent page. Bait sports the mark and nudges the inkwell closer to Callum.
At the Sunfire Elf camp, the sun dips low on the horizon. Janai walks with Karim past tents and carts on a marketplace. She greets elves with a Sunfire Elf salute.
You can live with Amaya as if you are married. You can enjoy every day of your lives together, just as you would. But do not make it official. Do not make it a symbol.
As Janai leaves, Karim turns to stares at a dark cloud that looms over Lux Aurea on the horizon.
Scene Change
Viren steps sideways along a narrow ledge, sweat rolling down his face.
Now that I'm here, and I may have only 30 days left, do I really want to spend all those days chasing? Maybe I should stop... and appreciate what I do have, a-a month of life. Living each day to the fullest, watching beautiful sunsets together. Laughing, and enjoying every moment with my daughter, who is the most special person I have ever known.
Uh, we could travel the countryside and try the seven cakes of Xadia! [sighs] I-I-I've spent my whole life striving to become someone different. Maybe it's time to accept that I am who I am for the days I have remaining. And when I reach the end, I will be at peace. And it... It will just be my time to let go.
Claudia covers her face with her hand. Then she reaches out and slaps Viren in the face.
You see? That's a sign! The dragons are leaving! We don't even have to sneak in now. We'll be able to get your staff back without any trouble. You don't have to have to keep climbing, Dad. You can head back down the Spire. Terry and I will retrieve the staff.
I'm going to take care of you, Dad. Everything is going to be okay.
Viren accepts Claudia’s hug, a tear streaming down his face.
Scene Change
Inside the royal tent, Janai sits at a low table. Amaya enters and gently turns Janai’s head and kisses her forehead. Amaya sits down beside Janai and signs.
He copies the symbols from the mirror in an ovoid shape, they replicate themselves on the adjacent page. Then the symbols on the adjacent page start to swirl. Callum and Bait watch the symbols swirl into words.
Callum holds out a candle and scans the room. The creature scampers up a see-through figure holding the Key of Aaravos in its striped tail. Callum turns around and watches Rayla materialise.
