Elmer, formerly known as Deadwood, was the bodyguard and enforcer of Finnegrin until he chose to turn against and kill his former master.[2]

Appearance[]

Elmer's hulking figure allows him to tower over most elves and humans. His body is grown entirely of brown gnarled wood with its curves and patterns resembling rippling muscle. His eyes are gleaming orange and his wooden teeth are shaped like rectangles. He also has barnacles covering several parts of his body, including a beard of them circling his chin. His clothing consists of a sleeveless collared gray shirt with lighter accents.[3]

Personality[]

Elmer initially possessed deep loyalty towards Finnegrin and obeyed his orders without question.[1] However, after Soren convinced him to not be cruel like Finnegrin, Elmer renounced and killed the Tidebound Elf, which granted him the freedom and dignity that he longed for. He also became more relaxed in embracing his true compassionate nature.[2]

Skills and Abilities[]

Earth Primal Connection[]

As an earthen creature, Elmer draws power from the Earth and is at his strongest deep underground or in the heart of a forest.

Physical Attributes[]

Elmer's brute strength allows him to overwhelm most opponents in a fight[1] and kick down a heavily locked door.[3] His wooden body granted him invulnerability to bladed weapons.[1] Additionally, his lack of blood makes him immune to the spell "Venus Frigoris" and the electric shocks of Sea Anemones.[2]

Regeneration[]

Elmer can regenerate his missing limbs within weeks if he loses any of them.[2]

Trivia[]

  • The name "Elmer" means "noble" or "famous" in British.[4]
    • His name may also be a reference to elm wood, due to his wooden body.
  • Elmer's "Deadwood" alias is a reference to the television series from which Finnegrin was inspired.[5]
