Dreamer's Nightmare[]
Dionis is eating cheese as he watches Ezran, Callum, and Bait are eavesdropping on a conversation between Otti, Harrow, Amaya, and Gren in an inn at night. He comments on how humans always making their own problems before blaming others but themselves. When Ezran asks Dionis if he knows anything about the phenomena that have been putting adults of Noct to sleep, the rat tells the prince to figure it out himself before scurrying off. Dionis then watches from the rafters as Amaya takes Ezran and Callum to their rooms before he wishes the young prince to have better luck next time.
The next morning, Dionis is heading towards his bed in the inn's abandoned library where he meets Ezran again. Dionis is frustrated that Ezran does not have a jelly tart before asking the latter to make sure the fairy tale book next to his bed does not fall over and crush him. Ezran borrows the book before returning it and asking Dionis if fairy tales are just made-up stories. Dionis reminds Ezran about the story of the piper who used an enchanted Evenerean flute to round up and herd all the rats infesting a village, and when the villagers refuse to pay, the piper leads all the rats back to eat every cheese in the mayor's house. Dionis says that fairy tales are based on some truth, except for the belief that rats enjoy the sounds of flutes.
By the next day, Ezran and his group return to the library to find out more about the creature who have been putting the adults of Noct to sleep. Dionis states that he has never seen Ezran's two new friends before: a bat-like creature named Nimei and a female Banther cub.
When the Dream Warden starts to go on a rampage in Noct and put all the adults to sleep, Ezran borrows the fairy tale book from Dionis again, and the rat asks the young prince to stay safe and do not do anything he would not do. Dionis then starts to eat cheese as he witnesses Callum rushing out the library to tell Ezran about the Dream Warden's motives.
