Darys is confident and boastful when claiming his victory. He believes that he is undefeated and is more than willing to fight any opponent. However, his arrogance leads him to be defeated by Elmer, who is too strong to be faced in single combat.

Chasing Shadows - Part Two

Darys faces off against Feathers the Skywing Elf in the Leviathan's Bones. Feathers manages to break Darys's nose with a single punch before the latter manages to gain the upper hand and defeat him. Darys revels in his victory and decides to challenge Finnegrin to descend from the balconies so that they can fight in the next round. But instead of facing the ruler of Scumport himself, his next opponent is revealed to be Elmer, Finnegrin's champion. Despite Darys's best efforts, Elmer uses his brute strength to effortlessly beat the Sunfire Elf into a bloody pulp with a few punches. Darys admits defeat before he is hauled away from the fighting pit by onlookers.

The Dragon Prince: Xadia

Darys greets a new recruit on their mission and tells them they have to wait for their partner, Tondir, to clear the rockslide. Tondir yells back at him that it would be over quicker if he helped too. Unfortunately, his shouting brings in a hoard of crawlers which Darys asks the soldier to help fight them off. After the scuffle, they blow up the rocks and run off to find the next rockslide to clear. When the soldier catches up, Tondir explains they found crawlers coming out of a hole and need to collapse it but have to wait for a man to come out. Darys insists they blow it up anyways. Tondir objects and calls to the man, Mervyn, to crawl out. Having overheard them, he starts to tell about his device but Darys snatches it out of his hand, leading Mervyn to wail about their disrespect for science and run away. Darys looks at the gadget and tosses it over to the soldier to keep it. Tondir realizes the crawlers had heard them so Darys suggests throwing the device which blows up the nest. They leave to report back to Lieutenant Fen while the soldier searches for Mervyn. Later, they arrive to check up on the new recruit and discover a fight had broken out when Mervyn and the soldier were attacked by Sunfire Elves. Darys quips they are lucky to be alive. He then notices Mervyn, who tries to escape again, but Tondir orders Darys to arrest him, much to his delight.

The next day, Darys, Tondir, and Mervyn are searching underground for a clear path to go deeper into the caverns when the new recruit arrives to help. Darys and Tondir then run ahead to chase down Mervyn again after the escapee had guided the soldier to use their scarabit and ancient Sunfire Elf canisters to blow up a blockage of rocks that was in their path. They both are stopped by a gate where Darys questions why there even was one there in the first place, until the soldier opens it with their scarabit. They all finally catch Mervyn, who is horrified at a pair of Sunfire Elves burning crawler eggs, and starts to protest against them. Darys immediately demands he put down his fists so they will not get torched too. After the soldier defends them, Darys suspects there is something amiss and decides to scout ahead. Tondir sends the soldier to accompany him while he escorts Mervyn away to safety. Darys and the recruit eventually discover that the Sunfire Elves were guarding an ancient fortress so they return to report to Lieutenant Fen.

Darys and the other scouts work with Sunfire historians to find another way into Blacksteel Sanctum. He and several other knights are then led by the new recruit on their mission to take down Saranar. On the way, he accidentally touches a button that activates a defense mechanism and the rest of the team is forced to find another way around while the recruit moves on ahead.

Sometime later, Darys and Tondir are sent to find some crawler nests so the soldier can observe their behavior for Mervyn’s experiment. Unfortunately, they get too close and are forced to collapse the nests. But after getting attacked when fetching crawler eggs and gathering their food supply, Darys has officially gained a hatred of Mervyn and science. He and Tondir call quits.

Darys, Tondir, and some soldiers are on a break when Tondir sees a Dawnbringer spy so he and the others chase them down. Seeing as he had not come back yet for quite some time, he calls over the recruit and asks for their help to look for them. He promises he will catch up after his break is done.

Darys accidentally touches a fire ruby with his blade which explodes and sends a shrapnel into Tondir's leg. He sends the soldier off to clear a path while he fixes him up. They catch up and see a golem assembling in an area surrounded by multiple clusters of fire rubies. After the soldier takes out the golem, Darys tells them to take the spoils home while he stays behind with Tondir a little longer.

As a Sunfire Elf, Darys draws power from the Sun and is at his strongest when the sun is at its highest during noon.

Combatant

Darys possesses a commendable combat prowess that allowed him to defeat Feathers. However, his skills are proven to be inferior compared to Elmer's brute strength.
