Despite their conflicting personalities, Chert and Terbium got along well in guarding the Great Gates of Umber Tor together.[1][2]
Rex Igneous[]
Rex Igneous trusted Chert and Terbium to guard the Great Gates of Umber Tor, and the two guardians respected and feared the Archdragon in return.[1] When Rex intended to unleash his fury on Team Zym, Chert and Terbium knew better than to be involved and took cover behind a stone pillar.[2]
Zubeia[]
Zubeia met Chert and Terbium at the Great Gates of Umber Tor. Zubeia commanded Chert and Terbium to open the Great Gates so she and Team Zym could meet with Rex Igneous, but the two guardians refused and told her to return in the next century. However, Chert and Terbium relented to Zubeia's demands after she unleashed a thunderous roar and threatened to reduce them into pebbles. Zubeia was also annoyed when Chert and Terbium did not reveal the existence of Umber Tor's secret entrance shortly after discovering the landslide obstructing its main entrance. When Zubeia advised Team Zym to carefully choose their words when speaking to Rex Igneous, Chert and Terbium were swift to back her claim up.[1]
Team Zym[]
Chert and Terbium greeted Team Zym when they arrived at the Great Gates of Umber Tor, and Chert did his best to be polite and welcoming towards them. Chert was also amused by Soren's attempts to move the large rocks that were blocking Umber Tor's main entrance.[1]
