Synopsis

The Dragon Prince Azymondias has hatched from his egg and potential peace between the Human Kingdoms and Xadia has never been closer. While Team Zym travels through the kingdom of Katolis to reach The Border, they are faced with several emotional hardships, including a test of trust with Claudia and Soren, as well as a first direct experience with dark magic. Callum learns the truth about events of the past revolving around the death of Avizandum and, after turbulent ship travel, the conflict between humanity and Xadia becomes a painfully clear reality. Trivia

  • Following the feedback of the fan community, the frame rate of the second season received a massive improvement from the previous season, providing a sleeker and more traditional look to the show.[2]
  • The official trailer for this season uses Robert Etoll's tracks "Erebus" and "Hyperion" from the album "Quest" as theme music.
  • The original ending of this season was altered to fit the narrative of what the characters would decide to do.[1]
  • This season included the first direct LGBT+ representation of the show by introducing the Queens of Duren, Annika and Neha. While controversy arouse around the couple in relation to the "bury your gays" trope often present in media, the inclusion of an openly lesbian couple with an important historical role remained a mostly positive addition with critics.[3][4]
  • Some events of "Sol Regem", particularly Amaya's and Janai's battle at the Breach, were originally supposed to be included within this season, though had to be pushed towards the following season due to lack of time in the limited amount of episodes.[1]
  • This season is the only one that currently does not include elves of the title's respective Primal Source, the Sky, which would have been Skywing Elves. Although Skywing Elves appeared in the prologue of "Echoes of Thunder", they were formally introduced through Nyx in the following season.
