History[]

Annika and Neha became a couple and took the thrones of Duren at an unknown point in history. At some point in their lives, they adopted a son named Grark,[1] and later had their daughter Aanya.

After Duren found itself suffering a seven-year-long famine, the two queens called an audience with King Harrow and Queen Sarai of Katolis, desperately requesting aid in surviving the coming winter, lest thousands of their citizens would have perished. To their joy, Harrow pledged his support to the queens and offered portions of Katolis's own food supplies to feed Duren's citizens. However, knowing that Katolis would not have enough food to provide its own people as well as Duren, Viren did research and eventually discovered a ritual that would both end the famine and bring fertility for years to come. This spell would require the heart of a Magma Titan and prompted an expedition to Xadia that the two queens partook in.[2]

After slaying the Magma Titan and retrieving its heart, the party's home journey was ultimately ended when Avizandum, the King of the Dragons, soared in to avenge the fallen creature. Annika and Neha decided to distract the mighty dragon so that the others would make it home safely and save their kingdom. Before riding out, Annika handed her ring to Harrow so that it would be given to their daughter Aanya. Although Viren aided the queens in holding Avizandum off by conjuring a wave of ice to partly freeze the dragon, allowing Annika and Neha to attack. Avizandum swiftly broke free and slammed his tail onto the two queens, killing them on impact. A memorial in their honor was later built inside their kingdom.[3]

Book Two - Sky[]

Breaking the Seal[]

In a flashback narrated by Viren, Annika and Neha journey to Katolis and ask the kingdom's monarchs to help end the famine that has plagued Duren for seven years. Harrow agrees to share his kingdom's resources, even if it would cost the lives of his people. To prevent more death and starvation, Viren proposes a solution: harvesting the heart of a Xadian Magma Titan and use it in a dark magic spell that can bring warmth and fertility to Katolis and Duren. Sarai is initially against the idea but she eventually joins the expedition to protect Harrow. When the group enters Xadia by night, they find a Magma Titan lying on the ground. Believing that the creature is dead, they decide to open it up and collect its heart. However, the Magma Titan is revealed to be alive and begins its attack.

Heart of a Titan[]

As the battle with the Magma Titan continues, Harrow's group sustains several casualties and injuries. However, they manage to kill the creature and retrieve its heart. Annika and Neha are relieved that their people will no longer suffer, but just as the expedition party is about to cross the Border to Katolis, Avizandum arrives to avenge the Magma Titan. Annika and Neha decide to create a diversion to buy the others some time and before departing and Annika hands her ring to Harrow, which would eventually be passed down to Aanya. Viren eventually helps the queens in distracting Avizandum by conjuring a wave of ice that temporarily immobilizes the Dragon King. Annika and Neha see the opportunity to attack when Avizandum liberates himself and kills the Queens of Duren with a lash of his tail. Upon hearing of their sacrifice, the people of Duren erect statues of Annika and Neha to memorialize their selfless acts.

Book Three - Sun[]

Thunderfall[]

Annika and Neha briefly appear in a flashback when Viren tells Aaravos on how he orchestrated the death of Avizandum.
