Moon Dragons are one of the six classes of dragons found in Xadia. They possess a connection to the magical energy of the Moon. They are perceived as beautiful and elusive, but also mysterious. Their powers make use of illusion, illumination, and shadow-craft. Some Moon Dragons are affected by various phases of the moon cycle.[1]
Dreamwhisper Drakes[]
Dreamwhisper Drakes are rare wingless dragons that are incredibly small. They hover in the air asleep or half-asleep, rumored to consume dreams. They cannot be touched, however, as a strange force prohibits any collision with other objects or living beings.[1]
Dusk Dragons[]
Dusk Dragons can be spotted during the final daylight hours as if they are bringing the night to Xadia, making them a rare sight.[1]
Eclipse Dragons[]
Eclipse Dragons are powerful yet uncommon dragons that change with each moon cycle. They are generally known to be dangerous and even more so due to their sudden change.[1]
Enigma Dragons[]
Enigma Dragons are tricksters that create traps for humans and elves. They are thin and wiry in shape and come in a variety of colors.[1]
Harvest Moon Dragons[]
Harvest Moon Dragons are social and friendly dragons who make an appearance during fall and love to shake leaves off of trees. Due to their seasonal appearance, they are uncommon to encounter. They are colored in bright orange speckles with crimson and canary yellow.[1]
Midnight Dragons[]
Midnight Dragons are shy dragons who like to hide away in darkness. Their scales are pitch black and their eyes are sensitive to light.[1]
Mirage Dragons[]
Mirage Dragons appear during the day unlike the rest of their class. Like Phantasm Dragons, they dissipate, though do so long before anyone would be able to touch them. This disappearance act resembles a mirage, giving them their name.[1]
Phantasm Dragons[]
Phantasm Dragons consistently reshape their appearance, putting a veil around their true appearance. They possess the ability to create mirror images of themselves and to dissipate upon touch like Mirage Dragons, making them impossible to kill.[1]
Phase Moon Dragons[]

Phase Moon Dragons, also known as Moon Dust Dragons, are only corporeal and fully tangible when their phase of the moon is occurring. The lunar phase of a Phase Moon Dragon is the one that occurred during their birth. Even then, they can only spend one night walking, communicate with others, and fly a short height off the ground. They can use the spell "Manifestum Corpus" to manifest their bodies. They can also use the spell "Fit Invisibilia" that allows them to fade from sight after using bright moonlight to shimmer.[2]
Shadow Dragons[]

Shadow Dragons consist almost entirely of two giant wings, making them appear like a shadow on a wall with their limbs and facial features becoming a blur. They enjoy casting large shadows at night.[1]

Trivia[]
- Another Archdragon of the Moon existed during Luna Tenebris's reign, however, they were deemed unsuitable to succeed her as the monarch of the dragons.[3]
